We want to be known as an agency where you can be yourself. A place where you can harmonise your religious values and faith obligations with your professional aspirations.
We believe that everyone should be able to bring their whole selves to work, and we’re committed to creating a workplace where everyone feels welcome, supported, and respected.
But the modern workplace is not well-catered for Muslim professionals (and 96% of Muslim professionals agree).
The MEC (Muslim Employment Charter) aims to help employers better accommodate the needs of Muslim professionals in the modern workplace.
Employers like Platypus who partner with MEC commit to implementing their charter into their organisation. We share the MEC’s goal to help employers create an environment where Muslim professionals can thrive in their careers without compromising their religious duties.
By signing the charter, We are committing to
- creating an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and respects the religious beliefs and practices of Muslim employees.
- providing reasonable accommodation for religious practices and observances, such as time off for prayers, prayer spaces, ablution facilities, more inclusive / less alcohol centric social and networking events.
- publically committing to comply with all applicable UK laws and regulations related to fair employment practices, as well as making sure our policies and practices align with
- the principles of the Muslim Employment Charter.
- being available for audit by MEC to make sure we are compliant with the principles of the Muslim Employment Charter
